Atronie police station to be re-open if…

Accra, May 24, GNA – Dr Benjamin Kunbuor on Tuesday said the Atronie Police station in the Sunyani Municipality would re-open the station anytime there was full assurance of cooperation by the people of Atronie.

He said the vandalised properties of the station would also be restored.

Dr Kunbuor made this known on the floor of Parliament when he appeared to answer questions.

He said it was hoped that the chiefs and elders in the area as well as the district assembly would assist in that direction.

Atronie Police Station was closed down following an unfortunate incident that led to the murder of a hospital administrator and subsequent violent attack on the Police Station and personnel by some people of Atronie.

Dr Kunbuor said the Police Station was closed down due to the security challenges that confronted the insufficient Police Personnel that were posted to man that station.
