Assin Fosu Mutual Health Insurance Scheme to start in May

Assin Fosu (C/R) April 22, GNA – Paid-up members of Assin District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme, will start accessing free health care from mid-May, this year.

Forty-five thousand (45,000) people from the informal sector have so far registered with the scheme.

Mr Derrick Owusu-Ambrose, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors who made this known to the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Assin Fosu said some sceptics were observing the success of the Scheme before they register as members.

“The more we delay the start of the Scheme, the more we keep the contributors in suspense,” he said.

Mr Owusu-Ambrose, also a Pharmacist appealed to traditional and religious leaders, assembly and unit committee members to get involved in the public campaign to create awareness about the Scheme.
