Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly saddled with GH¢2m debt

The Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti Region is in a whooping debt close to GH¢ 2million bequeathed by the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) to this current government.

“In my handing over notes I received from my successor, the Assembly owes close to two million Ghana cedis”, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Alidu Seidu revealed on ” Dwabirem” afternoon political talk show on Kumasi-based Otec FM.

The MCE indicates despite these financial challenges facing the local Assembly, government is trying hard to give jobs to the people particularly youth in the municipality comprising those in the Asawase constituency which falls under the Assembly.

“The Assembly is working assiduously with the central government to bringing you sustainable jobs for your livelihood in no time”, the 2016 parliamentary candidate for NPP for Asawase assured.

“I told my constituents that if they vote for me or NPP to win power, we will give them jobs”, revealing plans are underway to establish a fruit processing factory in the municipality.

Hon. Alidu Seidu urged constituents to repose their confidence in him about jobs under the Akufo-Addo led government.
