Amoako-Tuffuor Wins GHS130,000 in Case Against State

RadioXYZonline.com can confirm that the former Executive Chairman of the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP), Dr. Kwame Amoako-Tuffour, who was sacked in April 2008 by the erstwhile Kufuor administration has been awarded damages to the tune of GHS 130,000 by a High Court in Accra.

His dismissal, which was confirmed by the then Information Minister, Oboshie Sai-Cofie, and Kwadwo Adjei-Darko, Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Environment, was said to be part of a re-structuring exercise to inject efficiency into the programme.

But a peeved Dr. Kwame Amoako-Tuffour took the matter to court for wrongful termination of appointment.

A High Court in Accra ruled in favour of Dr. Amoako-Tuffuor on Monday and faulted the government for taking an inappropriate action.

It is however not clear if government will appeal against the ruling.
