Ghana has been handed a major boost ahead of their final 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers as Alidu Seidu and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku return to the Black Stars squad after lengthy spells on the sidelines.
Head coach Otto Addo confirmed the pair’s inclusion for the crucial fixtures against the Central African Republic and Comoros this month. Seidu, who plies his trade with Stade Rennais in France, has been out for several months following a serious injury, while Leicester City winger Fatawu has also battled with fitness issues since the start of the year.
Their return comes at a vital time as the Black Stars prepare to face the Central African Republic in Meknès, Morocco, on 8 October before hosting Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on 12 October in their last group game.
Fans have welcomed the news, with many hopeful that the duo’s energy and creativity will strengthen Ghana’s chances of sealing qualification for the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Both players have previously played key roles for the national team, and their comeback is seen as a morale boost in a squad that blends experienced internationals with rising talents.
