Afotey Agbo denies ordering military invasion at Apollonia

The Greater Accra Regional Minister has denied ordering the recent military raid at Apollonia in the Kpone Katamanso district.

Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo was accused of authorizing the military to stop ongoing developments on disputed lands.

The soldiers reportedly fired several shots to disperse the site workers on orders of the minister.

But Afotey Agbo told STARR MIDDAY NEWS Monday, the military rather acted on the orders of the District Security Council following the failure of the Police to step in.

“My ears are on the ground, I was not directly in charge of what happened at Apollonia. It was the district Security Council that took the decision and the military and the police had to comply”.

He added:“We have however, decided that the military and police remain on the ground until the problem is completely resolved”.
