Afigya-Sekyere chiefs urged to support developmental programmes

Agona (Ash), Jan. 3, GNA – Mr Ben Abankwa, Afigya-Sekyere District Chief Executive, has called on chiefs within the district to resolve the numerous chieftaincy disputes and support developmental programmes in their areas.

He expressed concern about the many chieftaincy disputes, which were retarding development projects within the district and appealed to the kingmakers to initiate measures to resolve the disputes to pave way for the accelerated development of the area.

In a New-Year message, Mr Abankwa asked the chiefs to resolve to concentrate their efforts at initiating development projects for their communities.

He said about 1,000 youths within the district would be provided with skills training this year in agriculture, sanitation and other vocations to give them employable skills. Mr Abankwa advised the youth to take advantage of opportunities being provided by the Government to be self-employed.
