Seven bonded for stealing

Breman Amanfopong (C/R), April 13, GNA – A Breman Asikuma magistrate’s court on Wednesday bonded seven persons to be of good behaviour for 12 months for conspiring to steal a ram costing half a million cedis at Breman Amanfopong.

Abdulai Raham, Kwesi Afful, Baba Kessien, Kwesi Awusi, Kwaku Issah, Samuel Adjei Gansah, and Awudu Razack Tanko would go to prison for four months each if they break the bond.

Police Chief Inspector Gershon Awuyeh told the court presided over by Miss Cynthia Hammond that on March 17, Rahman conspired with the six to steal his father’s ram, prepared a meal with it, ate some and kept the rest in the kitchen.

When they went for the rest of the soup they detected that some one had taken almost all the meat from the soap and this angered them. They took the remaining soap to a nearby stream to curse the culprits, he added.

The prosecution said the owner of the ram, Mr. Abdulai Karim had a tip off that Karim and his friends had stolen his ram and reported him to the police. 13 April 07
