Assistant Superintendent of Police E.A. Yendawk in charge of Techiman district told the tribunal, chaired by Mr Justice Nicholas Abodakpi, that Poku went to the victim’s bar on August eight to drink after which he feigned sleep.

ASP Yendaw said when Poku woke up, he tore the victim’s dress, bit her fingers and broke her tooth as she struggled to break free The complainant was, however, rescued by passers-by who heard her cries for help.

Passing sentence, Mr Abodakpi said the prosecution had proved beyond reasonable doubt that the accused attempted to rape the victim and sentenced him accordingly.
