BMA presents motorcycles to zonal councils

Bawku (U/E), Sept 12, GNA – The Bawku Municipal Assembly (BMA) has presented nine motorcycles valued at 57 million cedis to nine out of the 12 zonal councils.

It was made possible through the support of Ibis-Ghana, a Danish-based non-governmental organization, focusing on local governance.

Making the presentation the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Abdul-Rahman Gumah, said the decentralization process would be a mirage if councilors were not empowered to carry out their duties in an efficient manner.

He commended the councilors and their staff for their selfless devotion to duty and pledged more support from the assembly. The Programme Manger Ibis-Ghana, Mr. Joseph Allan, appealed to council officers to collaborate with the assembly members and said this would encourage unity among the leaders and the people.
