Police warns street vendors

Accra, Aug. 31, GNA – The Police Administration on Tuesday reminded the public that the ban on hawking along the ceremonial streets in Accra is still in force.

A statement from the Directorate of Public Relations, said a special task force would be despatched to the streets to arrest offenders and their wares handed over to the Osu Children’s Home.

It warned all street vendors and others, who harass motorists by attempting to wipe the windscreens of cars along the 37 Military Hospital road, Kaokudi Junction, Dimples traffic lights and other roads leading to the airport to put a stop to the practice or face the law.
