Aspiring Assembly member pledges to construct teacher’s quarters

Amasaman, Sept. 01, GNA – Mr. Samuel Quansah, aspiring Assembly member for Ashalaga Electoral Area, near Amasaman on Friday promised to construct a teacher’s quarters estimated at about 20 million cedis for the electoral area when given the mandate. Speaking to some members of the community as part of his campaign,

Mr. Quansah said teachers in the area, especially Ashalaga travel from far distances in Accra, to the town and this did not encourage good teaching and learning due to the accommodation problem. He said the accommodation problem for teachers remained a priority for him, since being a former teacher in the town, he had an insight in how the situation affects quality education. The aspiring member said other issues such as sand winning child trafficking would also be tackled during his term of office, adding that he hoped to organise the youth to develop interest in agriculture. ” This will enable the youth to shun smoking and other social vices, and to stay in the community instead of travelling to cities to seek white- collar jobs”, he added.

Mr. Adam Addy, Former Assembly member of the area, and Nii Akwanor II, Chief of Ashalaga commended Mr Quansah for his promises and assured him that the people would also assist him to achieve this objective.
