HIV/AIDS Gala on Saturday

Accra, Aug. 3, GNA — Janok Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation is to hold a two-day football gala competition at the Ojo Park at Lartebiokoshie in Accra on Saturday and Sunday, August 5 and 6. Miss Jane Oku, Executive Director of the Foundation who announced this in Accra on Thursday, said 14 clubs are expected to participate in the event which is being sponsored by Shell Ghana Limited.

The gala competition is aimed at sensitizing the community on the HIV/AIDS disease and how to check its spread in the various communities. Miss Oku, who is also the Assembly Woman for Nmenmeete Electoral Area said her outfit is organising the event as her contribution towards sports development.

She said some of the clubs participating in the gala include Gaadama Base, Makola Youth, Bafana Bafana, Show Boys Zamrama Babies and Sekoopaah.

Nii Agyiri Blankson, Accra Metropolitan Chief Executive is to be the Special Guest of Honour.
