Feeding programme takes off in Brong Ahafo

Kwame Pensang (B/A), July 21, GNA – Mr Yaw Manu-Yeboah, Wenchi District Director of Education, has urged parents to support education policies initiated by the government to offer their children quality education.

Mr Manu-Yeboah was speaking at a meeting with community leaders at Kwame Pensang at which he presented a quantity of cooking and dinning materials to the local primary school, a beneficiary of the national feeding programme.

He said all schools were community-based and it was the responsibility of parents and community leaders to ensure their effective management.

Mr. Manu-Yeboah urged assembly members, traditional authorities, unit committees and religious leaders to educate the people to take advantage of the capitation grants and enrol their children in schools. Five communities in the district are to benefit from the national feeding programme and they are Kwame Pensang, Botenso, Amponsakrom, New Wenchi and Kanease.
