Ten SSNIT defaulting companies before court

Assin Foso (C/R), June 26, GNA – Ten companies and institutions in the Assin Foso District have been arraigned before the Assin Foso District Magistrate Court for failing to pay the social security contributions of their workers.

They are Eden Communication Centre, Assinman Furniture Construction Works, Pioneer Bamboo Production, KDB Company Limited and Sun Rise Herbal Centre.

The other companies are Pomau Kukuase Restaurant, Gentile Preparatory School, Saviour Cambridge School, Galilee Herbal Centre and Glory International Academy.

The Proprietors and Directors of the companies and the institutions pleaded liable and the Magistrate, Mr Joseph Blay adjourned their cases to June 30.

According to the Prosecution, the companies and institutions had defaulted in the payment of their workers contributions amounting to several millions of cedis to SSNIT since January 2006.
