Nana Konadu Blames Govt

The Former First Lady and President of the 31st December Women?s Movement Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings has described as criminal and immoral attempts by the government to block her organization from working.

According to her the recent suit filed at the Fast Track Court against her movement by the Auditor General forms part of the grand design by government to use the courts to suppress the truth. Speaking to Kapital Radio she said all the charges leveled against her in respect to the purchase of Caridem are false. She accused the President for being behind the whole scheme of discrediting her and the NDC. Nana Konadu accused President Kufuor of corruption and emphasized that she has evidence to prove them. She said that her NGO and her family have been harassed since 2001 despite compelling evidence that they have done nothing wrong.

she questioned whether or not the president really understand the rule of law saying that the suit is being filed to divert attention from an impending disgrace at the Fast Track Court in the case where her organization has sued the Daily Guide and two of it?s editors. She accused the A-G of prosecuting a political agenda and thus turning a blind eye to documents and evidences that goes to prove the innocence of the movement and her family.
