Cape Coast, Feb. 7, GNA – People from all walks of life turned up at the Centre for National culture (CNC) in Cape Coast as early as 0630 hours on Tuesday for the People’s Assembly.
There was a long winding queue of students, the aged and workers waiting to be permitted into the hall by security personnel to enable them to either catch a glimpse of President John Agyekum Kufuor or interact with him.
Though the Centre is far from the town, it did not deter residents who thronged there in buses provided free of charge. The Cape Coast Township itself was a buzz of activities with heavy traffic resulting in security personnel working feverishly to control the flow of vehicles.
At the entrance of the Centre, the resident cultural troupe was already performing and awaiting the President’s arrival for the programme, which is scheduled for 1000 hours. The Ghana Police Band was also in attendance.
The President would open a photo exhibition of development projects in various parts of the country, before addressing the Assembly and interacting with the people.
