Assemblies of God Church donates items to some institutions

Kumasi, Nov. 28, GNA – The True Worshippers Centre of the Assemblies of God Church at Old Tafo in Kumasi on Saturday, donated some items to three institutions in the metropolis.

The items, which included typewriter, office cabinet, quantities of anti-malaria drugs, rice, sugar, milk, key soap and second-hand clothes, valued at 6.5 million cedis, were donated to the Tafo Government Hospital, Tafo Police Station and the Kumasi Children’s Home. Making the donation, Reverend Elvis Sarpong-Kumankuma, Superintendent Minister of the Church, said the donation forms part of the 10th anniversary celebration of the Church on December 18. He said, as its social responsibility, the church was expected to make such donations to help the needy in society.

Rev Sarpong-Kumankuma pledged to make more donations in the future and appealed to the beneficiary institutions to make judicious use of the items.

Mrs Mary Adum-Atta Bonsu, Deputy Director of Nursing Services at the Tafo Government Hospital, on behalf of the beneficiary institutions, thanked the Church for the gesture. She appealed to other churches, individuals and organizations to emulate this example.
