Houseboy in court for abduction and defilement

Accra, Oct. 17, GNA – A 21-year-old houseboy on Monday appeared before a Circuit Court charged with abduction and defilement. The court did not take Godfrey Kofi Baah’s plea and remanded him into prison custody to reappear on November 2. Baah is alleged to have kept the 14-year-old victim in his room for four months.

The prosecution said on June 13, this year, the victim who lives at Ashaiman, visited her relatives at Teshie and was seen off at about 1500 hours the same day.

The victim got off at Nungua to watch a dance band perform at the lorry station where Baah saw her, lured her to his house and detained her for four months.

The prosecution said during the victim’s stay at Baah’s house, the accused defiled her many times.

Upon a tip-off, the victim was found in Baah’s room on October 12, leading to his arrest. The prosecution said Baah, in his caution statement admitted the offence.
