World Vision donates materials

Twifo Nuamakrom (C/R), Aug 17, GNA – The Twifo Praso area Development Programme of World Vision Ghana has provided building materials worth 19 million cedis to the people of Nuamakrom for the construction of a block of six classrooms for the local Presbyterian Primary School and renovation of their five boreholes.

The items included cement, roofing sheets and nails. Mr William Okomeng Agyapong, Assembly member for Nuamakrom Electoral Area, told the GNA during a clean up campaign at Nuamakrom at the weekend.

He said the project estimated at 223 million cedis was being undertaken by the people under the supervision of Mr Abu Sadick, Chairman of the Unit Committee.

Mr Agyapong appealed to the Ghana Highway Authority to rehabilitate the 22- kilometre road from Twifo-Praso to Assin- Foso to facilitate easy evacuation of foodstuffs to the urban areas.

He also appealed to Ghana Telecom to increase the number of telephone booths at Praso, and said the only existing telephone booth at Praso could not meet the demands of the people.
