London Expo Postponed

Organisers of the maiden Anglo African Business and Trade Exhibition, in London have postponed the event scheduled to start tomorrow. A statement issued from London, noted the decision to postpone the trade exposition was taken following concerns raised by the exhibitors.

The organisers have therefore fixed November 24 to 26 for the event. Exhibitors to the maiden Anglo African Business and Trade Exhibition, scheduled to take place in London, from July 28 to 30 had expressed concern about their participation, with respect to the current spate of bombings by terrorists in the London metropolis. “Following the sizeable number of companies and individuals who have expressed concerns over travelling to London, at this time, it has become clear today that we have to postpone the exhibition, if we are to achieve the desired results of exhibitors and participants. We were very confident last week that the bombings of July 7, were not, adversely going to affect the event in any way, Bernard Otabil of Africa Week magazine, co-organisers of the event stated.

“But the situation has changed rapidly following the bomb scare on July 21, many of our exhibitors from abroad have expressed serious concerns about their own safety in London. Between Thursday July 21 and Friday 22, about 25 per cent of the international exhibitors, who had confirmed their participation have decided not to attend. This is the most expensive option for us to take, but it is also obvious that given the exceptional circumstances in London, it is the best option, Otabil added.
