Kasoa, April 25, GNA- Mr Isaac Lamptey, Medical Assistant of the Kasoa Health Centre, has expressed the need for the Ghana Health Service to boost the personnel of the medical facility to boost its capacity to handle the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). He said the 13 medical personnel comprising six nurses and six public health nurses would not be able to cope with the free medical services under the NHIS.
Mr Lamptey, who spoke to the Ghana News Agency at Kasoa, said between 80 and 120 patients from the 62 catchment communities report for treatment every day.
He called on the Effutu Awutu District Assembly, to ensure the speedy coding of houses and people for the implementation of the Scheme.
