Teachers’ quarters inaugurated at Kyerembabi

Kyerembabi (Ash), March 21, GNA – A 572 million-cedi teachers’ quarters built by the Adansi South District Assembly has been inaugurated at Kyerembabi.

The six-unit quarters was largely funded under the government’s Poverty Reduction Project and the Social Investment Fund (SIF) with the assembly and the community contributing 52 million cedis. Mr Dominic Kwaku Yeboah, the acting District Chief Executive who inaugurated the project, urged all stakeholders to assist in uplifting the standard of education in the area.

He called on the communities to help in motivating teachers to enable them to give off their best in the classroom. Mr J.K. Onyinah, the District Director of Education, commended the people of Kyerembabi for their interest in the education of their children.

He appealed to parents to ensure that all their children of school-going age were enrolled and retained in school. Nana Logosu Ayittey, the Odikro, expressed concern about lack of teachers and appealed to the education directorate to post teachers to the school.

He said one Faustina Adjanor, a resident of the town, had volunteered to take care of the kindergarten class whilst the primary section was short of two teachers.
