When Alhaji Issa Mobila was tortured to death in military custody a day after the last general elections, there were efforts from some quarters to cover-up the crime. Initially, the wicked lie of him dying on his way to military custody was thrown at Ghanaians but Ghanaians quickly saw through the smokescreen.
When public pressure started mounting on government for an explanation, the NPP government then came out with the statement that it had instituted an investigation into the murder. Almost three months on, Ghanaians are still waiting to hear the outcome of the investigation. The brutal torture and killing of the Alhaji Mobilla has been widely described as the first evidence of Mr. Kufuor?s Positive Change Chapter 2.
