THE Saltpond police are investigating a case, in which a farmer, Kwaku Amuzu, managed to outwit three armed robbers shooting and killing one of them.

Amuzu, who was attacked by the robbers, had virtually nothing on him, except his gun, as his defence.

The armed robber killed, has been identified as ‘Pascal’, whose real name is unknown.

Pascal, it is said, is a member of a gang of armed robbers, based at Abonku, near Saltpond, who have been trekking and operating in area, as far as to Mankessim.

Earlier, the robbers had attacked a female teacher, Vida Darkowa and taken away her hand-bag, containing only ?28,000, removed a golden ring from her finger and snatched away her wrist-watch.

Meanwhile, residents in the area have confirmed the menace, which the robbers have been causing in the area, especially with their attacks on women, returning from Mankessim, on market days.
