Korle Bu records more births

Accra, Dec. 28, GNA – Births registered at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital increased from 14,165 as at December 28 this year compared to 13,669 recorded last year.

Speaking to the GNA in Accra on Tuesday, Matron Dora Narh, Sister on duty said an increase of 596 babies had been recorded. A total of 67 births were recorded from Christmas Day to 27 December out of which 39 were males and 28 females.

Twenty babies and a set of twins were delivered on Christmas day out of which 11 were male and ten females.

Boxing Day recorded a total of 21 births, with 13 males and 8 females, while December 27 recorded 26 with 16 males and 10 females. Matron Narh said more males were born during the holidays and both mothers and babies were doing well. Majority of them had been discharged at the time of the visit to the hospital. Dec. 28, 04
