One hundred members of NRP defect to NPP

Mampong (Ash), Nov.16, GNA – About 100 card bearing members of the National Reform Party (NRP) in the Asante-Mampong Constituency have defected to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Mr Ibrahim Abdulai, the Constituency Organiser of NRP and Spokesman of the defectors, cited the vigour with which the Government had pursued its domestic and foreign policies and other reasons for their defection.

Announcing their defection at Mampong on Wednesday, Mr Abdulai also mentioned President John Agyekum Kufuor’s virtues of tolerance, an attitude which he noted, was also shared by members of his administration as an enticing factor of the NPP.

Welcoming them to the fold of the NPP, Mr Akwasi Dua, Mampong Constituency Chairman of the NPP, urged them to champion the cause of the Party.

He briefed them on the NPP manifesto, launched recently and asked them to spread the good message to every community in the Constituency.
