Voltarians Threatened For “Poor” reception For President

Police investigates threats
Ho, Oct. 28 – The Police in Ho are investigating the source of wall posters, threatening certain communities in the Volta Region with various forms of reprisals for alleged awkward reception given to President John Agyekum Kufuor when he visited the Region recently. Mr Kofi Duku Arthur, Volta Regional Police Commander, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Thursday that his men were working on clues that would lead to the arrest of the authors.

He said areas and specific spots mentioned as targets for attacks on November 15, this year, included some palaces and some offices of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Commander Arthur said: “We are not taking anything for granted.” Some of the posters were pasted on the fence-wall of the Ho High Court and a phone booth near the Internal Revenue Service.
