Parties in Progressive Alliance urged to bury differences

Offinso (Ashanti Region), 22 Jan. ’99,

Members of political parties which form the Progressive Alliance have been urged to work towards ensuring a resounding victory in the 2000 general elections. Mr Yaw Addai-Boadu, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Egle Party gave the advice at a rally organised by the party at Offinso. He urged them not to allow their personal interests to over-ride the aims and objectives of the alliance. The Regional Chairman asked supporters of the party to embark on massive membership drives to win more supporters for the Alliance. Mr Benjamin Brefoh, Offinso District Chief Executive called for unity among the Progressive Voluntary Organistions (PVOs) of the Alliance. He said an elaborate programme and strategies have been formulated to improve upon the organisational and campaign strategies of the alliance in the Offinso North and South constituencies. Oheneba Kofi Asamoah, Offinso South Constituency Chairman of the Egle party, called on the various organs in the Alliance to give recognition and respect to each other so that, with unity of purpose, the alliance could win the two seats in the district. He called on the party’s supporters to be tolerant of the opposition parties and co-operate with them for the district’s rapid development. GRi
