Aliu commissions lorry-park and school in Central Region

Anomabu (C/R), Oct 8, GNA – Vice President Aliu Mahama, as part of his outreach programme to the Central Region, inaugurated a 400-million-cedi lorry park for the people of Anomabu.

He also opened a 214-million-cedi block with relevant facilities, sponsored from the HIPC Fund, for the Kwegyir Aggrey Junior Secondary School at Aboom, a suburb of Cape Coast.

Vice President Mahama addressed durbars at Mankessim, Anomabu, Saltpond, Twifo Praso and Cape Coast, during which he briefed the chiefs and people about projects the government is executing to improve the standard of living of Ghanaians.

He also laid the foundation stone for the reconstruction of the Mankessim Market, one of the busiest commercial centres in the country. The Vice President inspected the progress of work on the Saltpond Market Complex that would house the Mfantsiman Community Rural Bank and the District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme. It would cost over 1.2 billion cedis.

He assured the people that more development projects in the road, education, health, agriculture and other sectors would be implemented in due course to improve the quality of life of Ghanaians.

“Our Government will continue to execute human-centred policies in consultation with you, the good people of this country, to address the problems in every part of Ghana,” he said.

Prof Dominic Fobih, Minister of Lands and Forestry, Mr Kwamena Bartels, Minster of Private Sector Development, Ms Christine Churcher, Minister of State responsible of Basic, Secondary and Girl-Child Education, Mr Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Deputy Minister of Information and other public officials, accompanied the Vice President.
