The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Russia branch has called on candidates who lost the party’s delegate conference to support the newly elected executives with their experience, ideas and strategic expertise ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Chairman Ebenezer Wepari praised the unsuccessful aspirants for their courage, commitment and contribution to the democratic process, saying the party’s shared objectives were more important than individual contests.
“I sincerely hope you will come on board and lend your experience, wisdom, ideas and strategic expertise to the elected executives as we work together towards the greater victory in 2028,” he said.
Mr Wepari also appealed for unity among members following the internal elections.
“The election is over. The work continues. The time to unite is now. Let us put our differences behind us, build bridges, support one another and focus on the bigger picture: a stronger NPP and a successful 2028 victory. I wish everyone a safe journey home and God’s blessings,” he said.
John Boadu was elected national chairman during the conference and said he would lead a renewed NPP into the next general elections.
He said the new executives would serve with humility and work with every branch of the party.
“Our task is to build a renewed NPP, one that listens and consults more. We are going to work closely with regional executives, constituents, external branches, and our MPs led by Afenyo-Markin,” Mr Boadu said on behalf of the newly elected executives.
Daniel Titus Glover was elected national organiser, while Mavis Hawa Koomson became national women’s organiser.
Justin Kodua Frimpong was re-elected general secretary after securing 4486 votes in a closely contested election. Former Member of Parliament for Ngleshie Amanfro, Sylvester Tetteh, finished second with 1340 votes, followed by Eugene Boakye Antwi with 162 and Dr Charles Dwamena with 126.
Abanga Fuseini Yakubu was elected national youth organiser at the contest held at Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
He received 1550 votes to defeat five other aspirants. Alfred Kumi Ababio polled 25 votes, Vera Oye Bram-Larbi 44, Michael Osei Boateng 78, Clement Opoku Gyamfi 631, and Chris Lloyd Nii Kwei Asamoah, the then Deputy National Youth Organiser, polled 46.
In his statement, Mr Wepari congratulated all newly elected members of the National Executive Committee and thanked delegates and external branch executives who travelled by air to attend the conference.
He said their participation had demonstrated commitment to the party and strengthened relationships between NPP branches around the world.
Mr Wepari urged delegates returning to their homes and countries to carry with them a spirit of unity, reconciliation and renewed commitment to the party.
