AFC Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has been crowned the Foreign-Based Male Footballer of the Year at the 2025 SWAG Awards, beating fellow Black Stars teammates Mohammed Kudus and Jordan Ayew to the honour.
The 24-year-old, who has been in scintillating form since the start of the Premier League season, was recognised for his consistency and growing influence for both club and country. His performances have built on the momentum of last season, earning him praise as one of Ghana’s most reliable attacking talents abroad.
Semenyo’s award comes at a time when competition among Ghana’s overseas players is at its highest, with Kudus excelling at Tottenham, continuing where he left off at West Ham and Jordan Ayew continuing to deliver for Leicester City. However, the SWAG panel concluded that Semenyo’s impact and upward trajectory gave him the edge in 2025.
His rise has also strengthened his role within the Black Stars setup, where he has become a key attacking option in Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The SWAG Awards, marking their 50th anniversary this year, celebrated several distinguished Ghanaian athletes across various sports, with Semenyo’s triumph standing out as one of the night’s major football highlights.
