GPL Super Clash: Hearts of Oak Host Asante Kotoko in Blockbuster Ghana Premier League Encounter

The stage is set for one of the most anticipated fixtures in Ghanaian football, the Super Clash as Accra Hearts of Oak welcome arch-rivals Asante Kotoko SC to the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, November 9, 2025, for a thrilling Week 9 Ghana Premier League encounter.

Both sides enter the contest in impressive form, promising a fierce battle between two of the league’s most decorated clubs.

Hearts of Oak, under the guidance of Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, remain unbeaten after eight matches (four wins and four draws), their longest undefeated run since 2020. The Phobians have built their resurgence on defensive discipline, conceding just three goals so far this season.

However, their home record has been less convincing, with just one win and three draws at the Accra Sports Stadium. Despite their defensive strength, goal-scoring remains a concern, having managed only three goals at home.

Their rivals, Asante Kotoko, arrive in the capital brimming with confidence after a 4-2 win over Karela United. The Porcupine Warriors have also yet to taste defeat in their five league games (three wins and two draws), boasting the best defensive record in the competition, only two goals conceded.

Kotoko have also been solid on the road, unbeaten and yet to concede an away goal this season.

In their last five league meetings, Kotoko have claimed three victories, with Hearts winning once and one match ending in a draw.

Sunday’s clash promises to be another classic encounter, a test of Hearts’ defensive wall against Kotoko’s growing attacking momentum.

For fans across Ghana and beyond, it’s not just a football match, it’s a battle of pride, history, and supremacy.
