Ghana Vs Comoros: The Team Wants to End This Qualification With a victory – Otto Addo

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo says Ghana will be going all out for a win in their final 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Comoros, despite needing just a point to secure qualification.

Ghana face Comoros on Sunday, 12 October, at the Accra Sports Stadium, knowing that a draw would guarantee their fifth World Cup appearance in the last six editions. But Addo insists his players must aim higher.

“The team wants to end this qualification with a victory. This is for sure,” he told the press ahead of the decisive match.

Addo stressed the importance of professionalism and staying focused until the job is done, recalling a painful football memory to highlight the unpredictability of the game.

“This is where everybody should show how professional they are. I’ve seen a lot in football, a lot. I once led with my team 4-0, and we lost 6-4,” he said.
“In football, anything can happen. We’re not done until we’re done.”

Ghana currently sit three points ahead of Madagascar in Group I and are unbeaten in the qualifiers. Confidence is high, but Addo is wary of complacency.

Kickoff at the Accra Sports Stadium is scheduled for 19:00 GMT, with a home crowd expected to create a charged atmosphere as the Black Stars look to finish the job in style.

For Addo, it’s simple, qualification is within reach, but victory is the only acceptable ending.
