President Kufuor begins tour of Eastern Region

Atibie-Kwahu, Aug. 28, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor on Saturday arrived at Atibie-Kwahu in the Kwahu South District, to begin a four-day official tour of the Eastern Region.

He was accompanied by Nana Akufo-Addo, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Hackman Owusu Agyeman, Minister of Interior, Dr Kwaku Afriyie, Minister of Health, Mr Kwamena Bartels, Minister of Private Sector Development and Mr Kwadwo Asiedu Affram, Deputy Minister of Trade, Industries and President’s Special Initiatives (PSI).

President Kufuor and his entourage were given a rousing welcome at Nkawkaw, capital of the newly created Kwahu West District, on his way to Atibie as special guest at the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Kwahu Government Hospital, at Atibie.

He would address a durbar of the chiefs and people of the area at Abetifi and pay a courtesy call on the Omanhene of the New Juaben Traditional Area at Koforidua on the first day of the tour. Aug. 28, 04
