NDC Parliamentary Candidate arrested

…in connection with double registration
Accra, July 24, GNA – The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has arrested Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Odododiodoo Constituency, for allegedly engaging six persons to commit electoral offences.

A statement from the Police Public Relation Directorate signed by Deputy Superintendent of Police David Eklu said Nii Vanderpuye was among seven people suspected to have been involved in electoral offences of double registration, impersonation and abetment of crime during the recent voter registration exercise.

It said the seven are in Police custody and would be put before court on Monday.

The others are: Musah Fuseini, 41, Petty Trader; Gariba Mohammed, 22, Butcher; Awudu Nelson, 35, Unemployed; Abukarim Abdul Razak, 26, Tailor; Seidu Zakari, 26, Trader and Muniru Mohammed, 28 Mason, all resident at Ayigbe Town, Zongo Junction, Accra. 24 July 04
