Accra, July 20, GNA – An Accra High Court presided over by Mr. Justice George A Aryeetey, would on July 28 move the court to a prosecution witness’s house at Teshie Nungua to enable the court obtain his evidence in Michael Soussoudis’s trial.
This was after Mrs Merley Wood, Principal State Attorney had told the court that Ex-warrant officer Class One, Edwin Kporha was suffering from stroke and that he could not attend the Court.
She therefore applied that the court be moved to WO1 Kporha’s house at Teshie Nungua in order to obtain his evidence.
Meanwhile a prosecution witness, which the court was expecting could not appear in court because the police could not contact him. The court therefore adjourned the case.
The prosecution said a team of security men acting upon a tip-off, searched the premises of Soussoudis at Burma Camp in April 2001. She said during the search, a quantity of explosives, military kits and magazines were discovered at the main building and the boys’ quarters.
She said during interrogation, Soussoudis could not offer any explanation for possessing the items.
He had pleaded not guilty to two counts of possessing firearms and ammunition without lawful excuse. Soussoudis is on a 400 million cedis bail.
