Goaso (B/A), June 6, GNA – Prophetess Mary Marku, founder and leader of Mary-Emmanuel Healing Church at Goaso in Asunafo district of Brong Ahafo has urged churches engaged in the healing business to respect the human rights of their patients.
She deplored recent media reports about the practice of some healing camps subjecting patients to inhuman and degrading treatment, including corporal punishment and starvation.
The Prophetess made the call when the church inaugurated its 60.5 million cedis chapel at Goaso.
She reminded the youth to abstain from early and casual sex to avoid contracting HIV/AIDS.
Prophetess Marku called on religious groups to pray ceaselessly for the nation for peaceful and successful elections in December. She urged other religious leaders to remain non-partisan so as not to inflame passions and cause splits among their congregations.
