Two persons to contest Asikuma Constituency

Breman Asikuma, (C/R), May 19, GNA- Two persons have filed their nominations to contest the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa constituency in addition to the incumbent, Mr P. C. Appiah- Ofori on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The party regional office at Cape Coast told reporters at Breman Asikuma at the close of filing of nominations April 22. The Contestants are Mr Henry Ampoful, a legal practitioner in Accra, and Mr Kofi Effah Sakyi-Appiah a tutor at Asanteman Secondary School in Kumasi.

The two and Mr Appiah-Ofori would go for vetting on Friday May 21, to be followed by primaries on May 30, the party said. The party called on the NPP constituency executives and the old ones to bury their political differences to ensure smooth running of the party.

It called for unity and co-operation among members to enable them to win massively in the December general elections.
