Ablekuma North MP, NADMO Coordinator console Odorkor fire victims

The Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North, Hon. Akua Afiriyie and the newly appointed greater Accra National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) coordinator, Hon.Cobbina Archibald have extended sympathy to the residence of Odorkor-Busia junction in the greater Accra whose houses were gutted out by fire yesterday evening.

There was no loss of live but properties including cash running into thousands of cedis were lost.However,the cause of the fire is yet to be established but residents says it was caused by a candle fire.

According to one victim, it took fire fighters nearly 4hours to bring the ferocious fire under control, which demanded 8 fire tenders to quench the fire.

Hon. Cobbina Archibald, the greater Accra regional NADMO coordinator however upon hearing the incident called the MP of Ablekuma North, Akua Afiriyie to join him look at the horrific disaster and ascertain for herself the impact of the fire disaster on the lives of her constituents.

The Legislator upon arriving encouraged victims to look into the future with hope and urged them not to be discouraged by what has happen to them but forge ahead to improve upon their lives.

Hon Afiriye further urged government to resource the Ghana National Fire Service in order to enable them deliver on their service to the general public without any hindrance.
