Women in politics – still marginalise

Despite the increasing participation of women in political activity, not too much has changed in terms of the nature of their participation. A recent study has revealed that women still continue to play supporting roles and very few are in decision making positions.

Public discussions and reactions to the report ranged from legislation to seek the implementation of certain portions of the report through to the suggestion to ban the wearing of mini-skirts as a means of clamping down on sexual harassment at the place of work.
