Police administration expresses concern about siren blowing motor hearses.

The Police administration says it is an offence for ambulances carrying dead bodies or motor hearses to blow sirens. The director of Police Public Relations, Mr. Awuni answering a question from JOYFM said there is no point in blowing sirens and disturbing public peace when motor hearses or ambulances carry corpse. JOYFM’s enquiries follow a fatal accident in Accra last Saturday, involving an ambulance carrying the corpse of a reverend minister. Eyewitnesses say the ambulance created panic blowing its siren and consequently collided with another vehicle negotiating a round about. Mr. Awuni said it was an offence for the driver to have blown the siren and that criminals charges would be taken against him.
