Facilitators attend workshop

Tepa (Ash), Dec 15, GNA-A two-day training workshop for 57 education facilitators in the Ahafo-Ano North district has ended at Tepa.

The workshop, sponsored by the Department for International Development (DFID) and the district education office aimed at training the facilitators to promote girls’ education in the communities. The participants were drawn from 57 primary schools in the district.

Addressing the participants, Mrs Patricia Mary Aidoo, the District Girl-Education Officer, stressed the importance of making schools girl-friendly.

She told the participants to be friendly so that parents and girls could consult them with their problems. Mrs Aidoo advised them to keep records on performance and achievements of girls so that they can detect their shortcomings on time for them to take the necessary action.

She said even though their main objective is to promote girl-education in schools, they should also give equal attention to boys.
