Amarkai re-elected FICAC Executive Board member

Accra, Dec. 14, GNA – Mr Amarkai Amarteifio, Consular of Sweden and the Dean of the Honorary Consular Corps in Ghana was re-elected as member of the Executive Board of the International Federation of Consular Corps CFICAC) at the General Assembly of the world body held in Athens, Greece on November 25, this year.

A statement from the Consular of Sweden’s office in Accra said prior to that re-election, Mr Amarteifio was the first African to be elected in 2000 to the Executive Board in Curacao. Mr Amarteifio was also appointed Chairman of the Legal Committee of the Organisation, which has its Permanent Secretariat in Brussels. Belgium.

The statement said the Congress elected unopposed Mr Roland Dahlman, the Dean of 400 strong Swedish Consular Corps, as the President for a three-year term.

Mr Dahlman, a distinguished Swedish Lawyer, is also the Consul of Madagascar in Sweden.

The Federation is a world body that promotes and oversees activities of consuls between receiving and sending states in connection with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic and Consular Immunity.
