Medilab Manager denies HIV test for loans story

Sunyani, Nov. 21 GNA – Nana Antwi-Berko, Manager of Medilab Diagnostic Services, Sunyani Branch, says he has no idea of any bank that demands HIV test before granting loans.

“I never said such a thing and have no idea of any bank that demands HIV test reports before granting loans”, he said in a rejoinder to a report filed by the Ghana News Agency in Sunyani.

He claimed what he said was; “if we are not careful to curb it (the spread of HIV/AIDS) in future it may even happen that creditors may demand HIV testing before granting of loans in order to secure their investments.

“I couldn’t have said that, and the word ‘bank’ was no where mentioned in my address. Our job ethics do not even permit me to spread news about our clients. My audience can testify to this,” Nana Antwi-Boasiako, claimed.

Meanwhile, the Sunyani Office of Ghana News Agency says it stands by what was reported.
