Bantama NHIS system goes down, subscribers stranded

Subscribers of the National Health Insurance Scheme under the Bantama sub-metro Mutual Health Scheme have been denied service to the scheme for the past two weeks.
Information gathered by Akoma FM in Kumasi indicates that, since 15th August, 2016 Bantama NHIS office has not been operating.

As early as 4:30am in the morning people queue at the offices to either process new membership cards, renew membership cards or replace lost cards.

Others go there to enroll on the capitation system but they all turned out to be disappointed by the managers of the scheme.

When Akoma FM contacted the management of the scheme, it was established that the system or link was down, which they explained has created this problem leaving the subscribers stranded.

As to when the system will be able to operate again, the management could not give a specific date and time.
