Replace your lost Voter ID cards at district offices – EC

The Electoral Commission (EC) has directed Ghanaians who have misplaced their voters Identification Cards to their district offices for replacement.

The Commission has also warned that registered voters who have misplaced their cards and attempt taking advantage of the ongoing limited registration exercise could be flouting the law.

The EC added that such persons if arrested could face prosecution and urged them to report to the various district offices in order to be attended to.

The Northern regional Director of the Electoral Commission, Mr. Bruce Ayisi who disclosed this in an interview with Tamale-based Fiila fm, also outlined the process involve in the limited registration and how the EC was ready to carry out the exercise.

The Limited Voter Registration Exercise started yesterday April 28 and will end on May 8.

Meanwhile there has been low turnout across the Northern Region in most of the registration centers.

The low turnout has however been attributed to what observers described as the poor publicity of the exercise.
