Man butchered to death over cassava

A 30-year-old man has been stabbed at Asankragua in the Western region over cassava, leading to his death.

Information gathered by Nyankonton Mu Nsem indicate that the deceased, whose name was only given as Emma, was allegedly stabbed by an unidentified man on his farm when he went to cultivate the cassava.

Emma reportedly met the unidentified man on his farm claiming that the farm was his.

Emma, who was also a mason by profession, according to Odeshiaba Alidu, became furious and ordered his ‘killer’ to vacate his farm but the suspect rather engaged the deceased in a fight and later butchered him to death.

Brother of the deceased who came across the lifeless body of Emma alerted traditional authorities in the area who advised him to report the matter to the police.

The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Enchi Government Hospital awaiting an autopsy.

Meanwhile, the suspect is currently at large.
