Man shoots brother dead over GHC130

A 21-year-old man, Kingsley Otu, has been shot dead by his brother at Asuakwaa, a suburb of Kotokrom in the Sunyani East District of the Brong Ahafo Region.

The alleged assailant, Harrison Yeboah, 23, bolted after committing the gruesome act.

Narrating the incident to the police, a sister of the two brothers, Alice Yeboah, said her siblings had a misunderstanding over GHS 130, belonging to the deceased, prior to the shooting.

The incident occurred in the evening on Saturday 9 April 2016. The alleged killer pulled a locally manufactured gun from his room in the midst of the misunderstanding and shot Kingsley at close range, puncturing a side of his throat.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Sunyani Regional Hospital Morgue, pending autopsy.

Police in the region have launched an investigation into the incident.
