BNI releases Capt. Koda

The Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) has released Captain (rtd) Edmund Koda, the head of the private security detail for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo.

The ex-serviceman has been in BNI custody since Thursday over his alleged role in the invitation of three ex-police officers from South Africa to train the internal security personnel of the party.

Credible information reaching Starrfmonline.com has it that Capt Koda, who fell ill while within the confines of the fortified edifice was released Easter Monday ahead of a planned demonstration by aggrieved supporters of the NPP to demand his freedom.

The 69-year-old was re-arrested on Thursday after charges of unlawful training and conspiracy to commit crime against him were dropped.

He is alleged to have invited some three ex-South African Police officers to train the security detail of Nana Akufo Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
